“Friends of Mountain Oaks” is an organized group of community volunteers concerned with proposals to develop the Mountain Oaks Park area located in the Crescenta Valley. The community learned of the proposal through an article in the Glendale News-Press on Friday, August 25th, 2006. This information led to an open meeting where concerned community members voiced their opposition to any development of this open space area.
Friends of Mountain Oaks is a tax-deductible non-profit organization, with the goal of educating the public about the value of preserving this open space of Glendale and the Crescenta Valley.
This tranquil area, with its natural surroundings, offers a place where wildlife co-exists with residents and neighbors of Mountain Oaks Park. The Crescenta Valley is in the suburbs of Los Angeles and has somewhat of a rural character that lures people to this area. It is a community rich with history and resides in the foothills of the Angeles National Forest.
We look forward to working with the community, the city of Glendale, the county of Los Angeles, and other organizations to achieve our objective and preserve the Mountain Oaks Park area as open space for all to enjoy forever. |
